The Long Island Writers' Guild is celebrating its 16th incredible
year. We hope that you can share the experience with us.
Cultivating
literary excellence since 1993, The Long Island Writers' Guild continues
to be dedicated to the development of each writer's voice and talent,
and to the collection of literary treasures in anthologies.
In
free, informal workshops, The Long Island Writers' Guild members guide
and encourage each other to develop stylistically, in a supportive and
educational environment. Each workshop offers writers the chance
to learn writing strategies and tricks, to dabble with inventive writing
exercises, to present their works-in-progress, and most importantly, to
have fun.
Diversity
is not only encouraged, it is the pride of The Long Island Writers' Guild.
Members have included: book and magazine authors, columnists, New York
City Playwrights, historical non-fiction writers, as well as two Fulbright
scholars, international writers, non-published writers and people who
love to play with words.
The
Long Island Writers' Guild meets twice a month at the Bethpage and Levittown
Libraries. All writing workshops are free, and open to the public. Please
see our Calendar of Events
for upcoming dates and locations.
